Research indicates there is poor connection between local and urban government institutions and the communities they serve. More successful approaches to engagement will support better, more relevant and more timely decision-making.
LEFAO believes that real development starts at the local and urban level and therefore our programs support professionals who strive to improve service delivery, support local economic development, and promote the rule of law at the local and urban level.
To promote and highlight innovation for the public interest in Local and Urban Governance and have efficient local and urban government entities where people and stakeholders are involved in development.
At LEFAO, our work is guided by the Five Principles
LEFAO’s agriculture sector has been working on skill development since from its budding stage to empower farmers with new skills.
In Afghanistan the health system does not deliver as expected to serve the population needs in an effective, efficient and equitable manner. Therefore, the importance of strengthening of public, private and community health systems has been emphasized time and again.
LEFAO has been very much concern about the empowerment of women. LEFAO strongly believes that economic emancipation of the women can make them empowered which may also help to establish their social status
Like many other countries, Afghanistan is facing the challenge of establishing local and urban governance institutions as efficient service delivery entities, ensuring the participation of both demand and supply side actors in the process of decision-making and implementation. .

LEFAO works in variety of fields that impact the lives of poor and needy through creative and cost-effective activities.
